Julian Bell, Owner & Head Coach

Julian has competed at a high level of athletics his entire life.  While studying for his degree in Neuroscience at Dalhousie University, he quickly picked up rugby after some prodding by his brother Richard to give it a try.  Giving it a try turned in to playing for the city of Dartmouth, achieving Rookie of the Year and winning the Maritime Championship; Dalhousie University, winning the Eastern Canadian Championship; and training daily with the Nova Scotia provincial coach.  Injuries persuaded him to try CrossFit after missing a season of rugby, and it has turned in to one of his strongest passions.

Richard Bell, Owner, Head Coach & Programmer

Richard took an interest in training from the time he was introduced to a Kinesiology course in highschool.  Aside from competing in high level athletics for a majority of his life, he took a keen interest in the idea of training for optimal performance, which is reflected in his degree in Kinesiology from Dalhousie. During his time at Dal, Richard was actively training individuals as well as interning as an athletic therapist for St. Mary’s University. Richard was introduced to CrossFit a couple years ago by his brother Julian, and upon seeing so much of the science he had been studying over the years embedded into a comprehensive methodology, he took it up as his main prescription for training.

Tatjana Stankovic, Coach

Tatjana has always led an active lifestyle, but if you asked her a few years ago if she could ever see herself doing Crossfit the honest answer would have been no. But since being exposed to the concept and community of CrossFit in the spring of 2015 she has been hooked! Having a Bachelors of Kinesiology, and a keen interest in strength and conditioning, the bridge between her academic background and training/coaching has been smooth. Tatjana believes that many people are unaware of their movement and fitness potentials, and hopes to continue helping people explore these realms safely and effectively.

Candice O'Donnell, Coach

Candice has always enjoyed being active and teaching others.  In 2012, after pursuing her degree in Physical Education she took an interest in strength and conditioning as a means to improve her half-marathon running time.  Since beginning CrossFit she has fallen in love with the variety, the challenge, and the community that it provides.  Candice has a strong passion for teaching and empowering people.  She believes that learning how to move well can lead to positive physical, mental, and emotional change.
